The club is a strong supporter of youth activities, and encourages club members to participate.

Members have contributed mineral specimens. Recently, the club purchased a number of mineral educational kits for this purpose. Dolores, in the past, made kits available to schools at our yearly July Fiesta of Gems.

Below you can see a picture of  Assistant Superintendent, Juvenis Laura, of the Culver City Unified School District accepting a $ 1,000 donation from CCR&MC, at our July 2009, Fiesta of Gems.

Chairperson Ellen Moe, has for many years monitored the most popular youth station at our Fiesta of Gems. As visitors enter the Auditorium, they are treated to exciting mineral discoveries, a wheel of fortune, prizes, tumbled rocks, etc. She also collects mineral specimens during the year that are used for educational purposes.
